Laurel Sevier

Laurel is passionate about helping people create solutions to complicated problems.  A skilled and experienced trial lawyer, Laurel believes the best way for her clients to “win” is to be strategic from the outset, through efficient and effective use of litigation tools and thoughtful planning.

Bolstered by a background in human behavior, she balances her approach by case and situation, with forceful litigation, or delicate and strategic negotiation.

Laurel’s representative clients are located throughout the Bay Area and include business owners and executives; venture capital, hedge fund and private equity partners; lawyers, doctors, engineers, and stay-at-home parents.

Representative Matters

  • Traced a highly complicated post-judgment business matter a decade after dissolution, identifying and then securing at trial multiple reimbursement claims.

  • Obtained joint custody and an equal timeshare schedule for a client with drug and alcohol dependency after guiding the client through a custody assessment and developing a strategy to assist them through recovery.

  • Successfully defended a challenge to set-aside a marital settlement agreement that terminated long term support following a long-term marriage.

  • Negotiated a complex settlement agreement that included the valuation and division of a family business involving multiple real property and varied business entities.
